Medik8 introduces the first Titanium Dermaroller
Hailed as the ‘magic wand of skincare’, the new Medik8 Titanium is the latest innovation in treating wrinkles, scars, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, cellulite and stretch marks. Designed to be used on its own or in conjunction with products from the Medik8 range, the dermaroller’s accurate and minimally intrusive penetration allows not only a much higher absorption of Medik8 serums and creams but has also been proven to stimulate collagen production, dramatically improving the condition of the skin. The Medik8 Titanium Dermaroller is a breakthrough tool, simple in design yet with outstanding results.
How does it work?
The procedure of using the Medik8 Titanium Dermaroller is commonly known as Skin Needling or Collagen Induction Therapy which has been proven to stimulate new collagen synthesis in the skin to restore smoother, brighter, younger looking skin. As the roller is rolled over the skin, numerous, ultra-fine micro-needles penetrate through the epidermis to create microscopic punctures on the skin’s surface. New studies have shown that by opening the skin in this way there is a dramatic increase in the penetration of any topical product used, increasing its efficacy whilst also stimulating the skin’s healing mechanisms to regenerate healthy skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and scars.
The Medik8 Titanium Dermaroller has several unique and innovative qualities setting it apart from other dermarollers currently available. Most dermatological facial rollers are made from stainless steel, which can blunt easily with daily use. The Medik8 Titanium Dermaroller needles are engineered in Sweden from pure titanium giving a finer and more durable edge, preventing excess irritation caused by ordinary steel needles. In addition each individual Medik8 Titanium Dermaroller microneedle is gold plated to maintain sterility. This technology produces extremely accurate and pinpoint punctures in the skin, with the aim of improving the treatment result. The gold coating also prevents oxidation and pitting of the surface even with long term use. No other dermaroller is made with titanium needles, so only the Medik8 Titanium Dermaroller can be re-used intensively for 3-6 months.
What can it do for me?
Suitable for all skin types, the Medik8 Titanium Dermaroller, used in conjunction with Medik8 cosmeceuticals, stimulates new collagen production, leading to a visible reduction of wrinkles and scars, as well as increasing skin firmness. Thickening of the skin caused by regular use of the Medik8 Titanium Dermaroller significantly reduces the visibility of broken capillaries as well as uneven pigmentation.
A visible improvement in skin appearance can be seen after just one month of regular use.

Dermaroller salon treatments have had a lot of press, as the results from an in salon treatment are amazing. The at home dermarollers can deliver great results, but not as effective as a professional salon treatment. Many professionals I know state that the at home dermarollers do not go deep enough in to the layers of the skin to give the results that a salon treatment does – however, they do agree that by using the dermaroller at home, it will mean that the skincare products you use after will penetrate further into the skin. This is certainly what I have found using the dermaroller at home – I do use it exactly as directed though and always sterilise as directed, which is very important.
The Medik8 dermaroller I use comes as part of an at home ‘kit’, so you also get the recommended products that you should use along with the dermaroller. I’m a fan of Medik8 products anyway – used correctly, they are products which deliver amazing results. The kit that I used is available to buy (along with other Medik 8 products) from http://www.skinbrands.co.uk/
Using the at home dermaroller has become a regular part of my skincare regime now – I really do believe in the results they deliver.
If you are interesting in purchasing an at home dermaroller – I recommend you read the information from the main Medik8 website: http://www.medik8.co.uk/roller/roller-sizes_and_directions.html
